Your Safe Space
I know that reaching out for therapy isn’t easy. Reaching out to a stranger and speaking about your problems can feel daunting. However, taking that first step is the most important part of getting to a better place. My practice is a completely safe and confidential place for you to explore what’s going on for you without fear of being judged, with me listening closely to what you say and drawing from different therapeutic approaches to come up with a roadmap going forward that makes sense to you.

Depending on your needs and particular situation, we can use therapeutic approaches that either focus on your problems in the here and now or explore your past to uncover the roots of your trauma. Some of the modalities I use often as a counsellor in Norwich and online include but are not limited to:
CBT is an extremely popular talking therapy that focuses on changing the way you think about yourself and others in the present moment. Together, and in a way that’s comfortable for you, we will look at the negative thought patterns that reinforce problems like depression and/or anxiety. By understanding these thought patterns for what they are, and how they contribute to difficult feelings, we can then gradually replace these with more compassionate, realistic interpretations, which in turn changes how you think, feel, and behave for the better.
Traumatic memories can leave us feeling stuck, weighed down by triggers that remind us of a certain event, and IEMT is all about engaging with this memory in a safe, guided way. By following my finger movements in certain rhythmic sequences, we will work to remove the negative emotions that are associated with that memory. We will essentially move the positioning of that memory in your mind and therefore unhook the feelings that come with it, allowing you to process it as a normal memory.
